Welsh boxing Olympian represents GB in Warsaw

Andrew Selby, the Barry-born boxer plays against Azat Makhmetow from Kazakhstan today in the semi-finals of Feliks Stamm Memorial Tournament in Warsaw.

Selby beat Frenchman Driss Yayaoui overwhelmingly with a 24-6 score on the first day of the tournament.

The 24-year-old then kicked his teammate Charlie Edwards out as he performed his fancy skills to win by 15-9, which enlightened the hope for the Englishman to win a medal diminished.

Selby qualified in the 2012 London Olympics and is a current European champion from 2011. He won the silver medal at the 2011 world champion in Baku Azerbaijan.

The flyweight boxer is now training in Splott Adventure ABC, Cardiff.
